Dr Vikki Hunkin

Dr Vikki Hunkin is a Consultant Clinical Neuropsychologist with over 20 years’ experience in the NHS and independent practice.

 

She provides clinical neuropsychological assessment and neuropsychological expert witness reports in personal injury, clinical negligence and capacity cases, working with solicitors, insurers and the courts across Cornwall, Devon and the wider UK.

 

Dr Hunkin is HCPC registered and holds the Qualification in Clinical Neuropsychology (QiCN), regarded by the British Psychological Society as the gold standard in the field. She is an Associate Fellow of the British Psychological Society, listed on the BPS Specialist Register in Clinical Neuropsychology, and holds the Bond Solon Expert Witness Certificate.

 

Her reports are prepared in accordance with Part 35 of the Civil Procedure Rules and are known for being clear, structured and accessible to both clinical and legal audiences.

 

Dr Hunkin trained at Oxford, Bristol and Plymouth Universities and is based in Cornwall and Devon, but sees clients across England and Wales.

Alongside her clinical work, she has extensive experience preparing reports for legal proceedings, including legal aid work, and is experienced in working directly with solicitors managing complex medico-legal cases.

Dr Hunkin has extensive experience working with individuals following brain injury across the full pathway of care, from acute hospital settings through to long-term community rehabilitation.

 

Dr Hunkin is Associate Editor of Europe’s Journal of Psychology, is an external examiner for Canterbury Christchurch University and has appeared in the media commenting on psychological issues.

Tristan Hunkin

BA(Hons), PgDip, MA, FRSA

Tristan Hunkin is Practice Manager and dedicated case manager, overseeing all bookings, client coordination and day-to-day communication with solicitors and insurers.

 

He is typically the first point of contact for new instructions and works closely with instructing parties to ensure that cases progress smoothly, deadlines are met and all administrative aspects are handled efficiently.

 

This provides a consistent and responsive point of contact throughout the life of a case, supporting clear communication and timely delivery of reports.

 

Enquiries are responded to promptly, with clear information provided on availability, fees and timescales. We prioritise clear, consistent communication throughout the life of a case.

 

In addition to his role within the practice, Tristan has experience in organisational management and communication, having previously worked at senior level within a national media organisation recognised in The Sunday Times Best Companies to Work For four years in a row.

He also supports the development of remote neuropsychological assessment services, offering flexible options for clients who are unable to attend in person.

 

Tristan lives in Cornwall with his family.
