Dr Vikki Hunkin

BA(Hons), D.Clin.Psy, CPsychol,

PgDip, QiCN, AFBPsS

Dr Hunkin is a Consultant Clinical Neuropsychologist with more than twenty years experience in clinical practice.
 

Educated at Oxford, Bristol and Plymouth Universities she lives and works in Cornwall, Devon, Somerset and Dorset but also travels further afield.
 

A longstanding NHS psychologist, Dr Hunkin also sees private patients quickly in Cornwall, in addition to providing supervision to colleagues and working with law firms and insurers to provide comprehensive and speedy assessments and reports, including legal aid work. Her areas of particular interest include: Brain injury, strokes and brain haemorrhage, dementia (including Alzheimer’s, vascular dementia and lewy body dementia) and other neurodegenerative illnesses (including Parkinson’s), epilepsy, post-concussion syndrome and other adult neurological conditions.
 

She is one of a small number of practitioners in Cornwall who has experience of working with people who have had a brain injury throughout their care. This includes in hospital during the acute phase, in the months following, in multidisciplinary neurorehabilitation and with those who are living with the long term consequences of brain injury in the community.
 

Dr Hunkin is HCPC registered and is one of the few practicing psychologists in Cornwall to hold the Qualification in Clinical Neuropsychology (QicN), regarded by the British Psychological Society as the “gold standard.”
 

She is Associate Editor of Europe’s Journal of Psychology, listed on the BPS Specialist Register in Clinical Neuropsychology and has appeared in the media commenting on psychological issues. Dr Hunkin is an Associate Fellow of the British Psychological Society and holds the Civil Expert Witness certificate through Cardiff University's Law School and Bond Solon. She is a trustee of Headway Cornwall.

Tristan Hunkin

Tristan Hunkin is Practice Manager, overseeing bookings and client care and is likely to be the first person to welcome you to your appointment. 

He also works on our new online neurological testing system, neuroconsult.co.uk which offers people quick, confidential online reports for those that are not able to travel to an appointment.

A former journalist, Tristan was part of the management team that was named The Sunday Times Best Company To Work For four times in a row.

He now works with people with neurological conditions in addition to spending time supporting leaders who wish to improve staff training, involvement and retention.

Tristan lives near the coast in Cornwall with his family and two young daughters.
